SPOLEČNOST NOŽÍŘŮ – SHEFFIELD
Na začátku 17. století, v roce 1616, po smrti lorda Shrewsbury a v Sheffiedu hrozil úpadek kvality. Krokem k udržení a pozvednutí kvality byl až v roce 1624 výnos parlamentu k založení Společnosti Hallamshirských nožířů (Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire – oblast farnosti Sheffield a dalších přilehlých farností), která měla zavést řád a vysoký, jednotný standard v celém regionu a to zejména systémem kontroly jak kvality výroby tak učňovské přípravy, přidělováním a registrováním jednotlivých značek. Tato filozofie byla základním kamenem, který zajišťoval, aby se značka „Made in Sheffield“ stala symbolem zaručené kvality řemeslné práce uznávané po celém světě. Více zde
